Post Enzo EM001 on the honeymoon!
Well, the day finally arrived! I got married 2 weeks ago, and received an EM001 as my wedding gift from my new wife. Enzo has this piece leftover as a gently shop worn model, so I am also happy that I got it direct from Enzo himself. The watch is great and I am a very happy guy. This was a special day for me, considering I got to be married (7 years in the making!) and receive a watch (2 years I've been waiting for it!) all in one evening! We went on our honeymoon to Switzerland, and also the Amalfi Coast. Here are a couple pics of the watch from our balcony at the Hotel Poseidon, overlooking the town of Positano.

There was a guy named Pasquale who I met in Positano and he was interested in the watch. He owned a ceramics shop there in Positano, and after I bought a plate from him, he asked about the EM001. We talked about it for awhile and he said it looked and felt like Panerai, and then commented: “that must have cost you about, what, 5,000 Euro, or something like that?” I don’t like to tell people how much I pay for things, but when I told him what the general market price he should expect to pay was, his eyes popped out of his head. I gave him the website, and we walked out of the shop. We passed by the shop again about 2 hrs later, and he saw me walk by. He flagged me down to talk about the watch again and asked me if the watch was a quartz or auto. I told him it was an auto, ETA 2824 and he just shook his head with this confused look on his face. It was great – seeing someone confused by a watchmaker who is offering value and quality at the same time!

Nice watch !! Congrats on that and the wedding !!

Was in Positano myself, 2nd to the 16th of this month, stunning place and weather, probably passed in the street or past a bar, never know.

Tripton,

Incredible gift and watch! Everytime I see that EM001, my brain starts firing off, saying, GOTTA GET ONE...when I already have one now... That's the appeal, so I'm glad you got two of your dreams in one day!

Congratulations on your marriage, and thanks for sharing the pics of your Enzo in Positano. I love that place (and the watch).

The Italians know their watches and I'm not surprised that the shop keeper was impressed. My Enzo gets alot of attention, both from watch folk and non-watch folks.

Wishing you a long and happy marriage.

congrats on the wedding - what a great wedding present

just out of interest how heavy is the watch on the wrist - like the look and be great to understand how they wear before I take the plunge?

Cheers

It is a heavy watch, no doubt about it. Over 1/2 a pound, but because the head and bracelet are well balanced, it wears well. I don't find the weight to be an issue at all. You might notice it for 10 minutes when you first put it on, but then you'll get used to it and love it.

First of all, I want to congratulate you. You are a very lucky guy to love someone like her. She has given you something very precious for you to remember her always.

thanks for saying that. Funny to all of a sudden see an old post like this ressurected from the dead.

Also interesting that this same watch now is sporting an original orange enzo EM002 dial. I picked one up last month in an off-market deal. I've saved the black face, will switch it out in 6 months, keep flip flopping once a year probably.
